Jim Wagner, MA, LMFT
Jim brings a warm and genuine presence to the therapeutic relationship. His diverse background has given him experience working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, damaged or broken relationships, trauma, shame, addiction, and challenging life transitions. He is passionate about the process of working with clients to become more self-accepting. From that acceptance they begin to heal and grow by harnessing their innate strengths, finding creative solutions to their problems, and connecting with others more meaningfully.
Jim has completed Level II Training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which uses body awareness and mindfulness to treat trauma and deep-rooted ways of coping that often formed in childhood. He also uses person-centered, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and practical Adlerian approaches. He works well with couples, adults, older teenagers, families, and parents.
Licensed as a marriage-and-family therapist, Jim completed his education at the Adler Graduate School. His clinical interests are the mind–body connection, healthy relationships, and what makes people well. He enjoys connecting with his wife of over 20 years, spending time with close friends, being physically active (especially outdoors), and deepening his own mindfulness practice.
