Amber Phelps, MA, LADC

Amber (they/them) is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) and is working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). They are passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families through harm reduction, trauma-responsive care, and culturally affirming therapy. Amber helps clients navigate life’s complexities while reconnecting with their inner strengths and hope as they pursue their recovery and healing goals.

Amber is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Exposure Therapy. They take a collaborative approach to therapy and have experience supporting clients with trauma, LGBTQIA+ care, neurodivergence, dissociation, substance and alcohol use, anxiety, depression, relational concerns, and grief.

Amber brings nearly 15 years of diverse experience, including work with survivors of complex and historical trauma, substance use treatment, crisis intervention, sexual assault advocacy, case management, and community-based harm reduction programs. They earned a Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, along with a Graduate Certificate in Addiction Studies.

Amber specializes in working with diverse communities as an intersectional, sex-positive, and social justice–oriented therapist. They are accompanied by their service dog, Juno, who assists them and is just as enthusiastic about coming to work.
